Arevon Sponsors Los Angeles County Fire Museum Service Day
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. and BELLFLOWER, Calif. (May 11, 2024) – The Los Angeles County Fire Museum Association is proud to announce Arevon Energy, Inc., a leading renewable energy developer, owner, and operator, as a sponsor for the 2024 Fire Service Day. This year, the LA County Fire Department is commemorating its 100th year of service and looks forward to celebrating our department, firefighters, and museum.
“We want to thank Arevon for sponsoring this event and for their support of the LA County Fire Museum,” said Paul Oyler, President of LA County Fire Museum Association. “Sponsors such as Arevon help us honor our firefighters through events like this and celebrate our cherished history through the preservation of equipment.”
Arevon is passionate about supporting first responders. Arevon officials said their sponsorship of the event is a token of their appreciation for the critical service that firefighters provide.
“We are proud to sponsor the Fire Service Day and celebrate 100 years of the Los Angeles County Fire Department,” said Trish Evans, Director of Community Relations at Arevon. “As a renewable energy company, the safety of our project sites and surrounding communities is of utmost importance. We could not be more excited to partner with the Los Angeles County Fire Museum to celebrate the department’s firefighters of the past, present, and future.”
Arevon is proposing to build the Avocet Energy Storage Project, a 200 megawatt/800 megawatt-hour facility in the City of Carson. The facility will store energy during non-peak hours and discharge energy back to the grid when there is high demand. It will also greatly improve grid stability and reduce the likelihood of blackouts, while maximizing the use of renewable energy sources. Arevon hopes to break ground on the Avocet Energy Storage Project in 2025 and begin commercial operations in 2026. Arevon is committed to being a responsible community member that delivers safe, reliable clean energy projects which advance the energy transition.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Museum are hosting Fire Service Day on May 11, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees will be able to experience firefighting demonstrations, view active and antique fire equipment, and watch Los Angeles County Fire Fly Overs. Food and refreshments will be provided. The LA County Fire Museum is located at 16400 Bellflower Boulevard, Bellflower, CA 90706. We hope to see you there!
