Blue Jeans Energy Project
Blue Jeans is a planned energy project located in Knox County, Indiana. The facility is currently in development and is anticipated to start construction in 2027, with the goal of commercial operation in 2029.
The Blue Jeans project will help meet our country’s rapidly growing demand for electricity by delivering reliable, affordable, locally generated energy. It will strengthen the local economy and support public services through tax revenue, job creation, and long-term investment, while providing the electric system with the capacity needed to keep Indiana homes and businesses powered.
The project will include advanced battery storage technology selected for its strong safety performance, enabling electricity to be dispatched when it is needed most. This supports grid reliability, reduces strain on the electric system, and helps stabilize electricity prices.

Prioritizing Safety
Utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems are built to last and held to the highest safety standards, with solar panels undergoing rigorous testing under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure. Compared to many alternative lithium-ion chemistries, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) is less susceptible to thermal events and has become a preferred choice for utility-scale energy storage applications. The majority of our energy storage systems utilize LFP Megapack batteries, which are widely recognized across the industry for their stability and safety performance. Since their commercial introduction in North America, there have been no reported fire incidents involving LFP Megapacks.
Strengthening Communities
At Arevon, we don’t just develop energy projects — we show up, we listen, and we act as partners to the communities that make them possible. That means more than delivering electricity. It means supporting local priorities through volunteering, event sponsorships, and direct community investments.
As part of our long-term commitment, Arevon allocates a portion of each project’s capital cost to community benefits. We focus our resources on three key pillars: alleviating food and housing insecurity, supporting education with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and promoting public health and safety.
